Unhappy ECU question * you guys are gunna laugh :(*

Ok, laugh at me all you want but if i dont ask ill never know, my car was messed up and the check engine light was on, somebody was like what kind of code is the engine sending out, how do i check that? i have no clue what that means to be completely honest and if im gunna have a hobbie like cars i think i should probably know, anyone that can help me out?

for beginners maybe just take it to auto zone. They will do it for free and tell you what code its throwing. I believe they can even reset it for you.

If you are feeling brave do what cronic has suggested.

what cronic said or some ecu's have an LED light right on the ecu itself and u don't have to connect, just lift the carpet up on the passangers side floor board, take off the metal cover.

i like that auto zone idea, im rockin it fuckin ignorant idiot style and id probably misinterpret it for a flat tire

Most likely resetting an engine code will not fix the problem. Are you getting an engine code? If so then maybe the sensor it out, or you have a lose wire somewhere.

SlowAsshatch, you can always get the auto zone diagnostic for free, and then from what code they tell you it is, try to get it fixed.
