Well, I'm fuct
In my quest to swap out my oilpan today, I realized it is pretty much impossible for me to do. The DC 1 piece header is not going to budge enough for me to be able to drop the pan. In fact, it is so tight that it is sitting right against the pan when fully bolted down and only has 1/4" of clearance from the pan once it is loose. Additionally, it pretty much sits right on the front crossmember and will not budge off of the studs that go into the head. If I had a 2 piece header, this would not be an issue and I would be done by now.
Any suggestions besides taking a sawzall and turning the 1 piecer into a 2 piecer?
Why does everything have to be so damn difficult?

Take the Crossmember off and leave the Bars on the car...You say you have room to pull the header off with that out of the way, so you should be fine...And before you put the header back on, why don't you wrap it all the way to the outlet to keep oil temps down...

you need jack stands, why cant you just take your header off and drop the pan?
hence why i dont have a 1 piece header, cuz i dont drive at 9000 rpms all day.

This seems way to much work for just replacing a oil pan. Is this a b16 crx?

Yes, it's a b16. I managed to finish it up, but am still working on getting the bolts to line up for the front lower mount (yes, I have all mounts alive and functional). I suppose I could do without it for now.
Back to cutting myself up in the garage. At least it holds oil now.
T-minus 5 hours until work.

if all else fails... saws-all!

Alas, it is back together. It's amazing how much shit has to come off to get that pan off. Granted, some of it was the fault of my header, but holy lord. I'm too exhausted to continue to fuck with the front mount, it'll have to wait until the car goes to SS to get a dyno tune. After all, back in the day they figured out how to get it in there in the first place, so they can try it again. As much as I curse and swear at the car, at least the swap was done very well and has caused me no issues. Thank you John for doing it right the first time.
