Default MSD SCI-L Installation

My friend had asked me this question but I really didn't know: Where is the best place to mount the ignition box in a 98 GSR? I was thinking on the firewall but I didn't want to just drill holes through and damage something. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i wouldn't suggest the firewall, i'd suggest somewhere along the side in front of where ur strut assembly bolts up.

Yeah, I guess I could mount it up by where the strut bar goes. I have heard of people putting their ignition boxes inside the car.

no not where the strut bar goes, go down more along the front of that like b/t the intake and where the strut assembly mounts up.

Saw it plenty of times, even did a few MSD installs in Mustangs under the seat, inside the center console and glove box. Makes it really easy to change out chips on the fly and keeps them away from heat. Extending the wires is a PITA, especially when you want to keep it neat. Being an anal retentive detail freak does have its disadvantages.

Yeah, that is true. If I bring inside the car it will be away from heat. I was reading the directions and it also said that you can put inside the car. But they said not to put it in the glove box though.

I think I am going to put it behind the center console.
