msd blaster ss and the modified cap, both can be found for less than $100 total by surfing the net, takes about an hour to install and worth every penny.

no prob. I have the same swap in an 88 crx si and the first thing I did when I got it home was to chuck the stock coil cause its week. But check the pricing on the stock one and if you can upgrade for a little more I would. but for a stock one I don't think it has to be obd matching as its not a sensor its just basically a step up transformer for your spark plugs.

You can use the coil off of any obd0 distributor. 90-91 LS, 88-91 si/hf, 88-91dx, whatever. All obd0 ignitors are also interchangeable.

actually they all work (i.e.,b16a2 distributor on my 93hb, or the 00 si coil on my old rex etc, non-obd coil in deboes 93 prelude...etc, etc...)...coil does not matter as long as it is working, but the icm chips are slightly different...course I have swapped those out as well, gen. just pertains to the way the bolts hold the chips in place...if you need one, I have a bunch
