Honda Issues...
Ok...heres the situation
I also have a '98 civic ex. My mom was driving it and she said that as she was driving the car 's engine started roaring. Then she turned on the AC and it became even louder and the car was shaking.
I turned it on and lifted up the hood...for a stock car it doesnt sound right. Next i turned on the AC and it came out cold but after about 30 seconds the entire engine started shaking violently (it looked like it was gonna pop out of the car) and making a PSHHH sound. It almost sounds like something is flapping around inside (?)
I dont know anything about AC issues...but i cant believe a '98 honda with low miles would have the AC die.
If you guys have ever heard of this issue or know what it is let me know! B/c the car doesnt look or sound safe to drive.

ok well it is not all the A/C if it gets worse with A/C fine... but your A/C doesnt make your motor jump as if to leep from the engine bay... so i think your problem lies in something else... i would take a look at it for you... if you go to the meet on sunday (if you can drive it that far) bring it... if not i think Alan, KickUAround, lives by you and i am always over there i could stop and take a look at it... just let me know... but i dont think it has much to do with the A/C juat maybe the load the compressor put on the motor when it is on...

Clueless but my friends car was doing that and just yesterday his whole A/C compressor fell out the bottom of his car in front of me I had to dodge that shit lol it was funny as hell to me anyway Well anyways good luck on finding out the prob.

yes it can
it will make it do this if the the a/c com. locks up
if the belt dose not slip it will try to stall the car
I'll keep ya'll posted on the outcome to this weird ass problem.
