A reader asked about footwear and what boots I wore back in the day in my many adve
A reader asked about footwear and what boots I wore back in the day in my many adventures…
He wanted to have quality boots for work and also for a crisis situation.
The boots I used in places I can’t name are Danner.
Danner boots was founded many moons ago (in 1931) by a fellow named Charles Danner.
They make all sorts of boots from hiking to military to law enforcement.
The boots certainly aren’t cheap, but like all important gear, you want to buy quality and have them last you a long, long time.
In addition to Danner boots, you obviously want a good pair of socks.
The socks I like these days and what I’m wearing at the moment are Darn Tough Socks.
They have a lifetime guarantee and if they wear out, you can return them for a new pair. (I have returned some pairs after they got holes in them.)
Of course, don’t forget to throw this extra footwear in the back of your pickup or in the trunk of your car.
I know several people who wear fancy dress shoes to work each day, but they’ve got their boots and socks in their car in case they have to head out on foot to make it home.
I totally realize that boots and socks are far down the list of things when it comes to “sexy gear.”
But ask anyone in the military or CIA or law enforcement how grateful they are for a good pair of boots.
And remember, when the crisis comes and you need footwear, it’s probably too late to get on Amazon and order what you truly need.
So, stock up now…
And make sure you’ve got backups in the trunk of your car.
