[h=2]It’s no surprise that California has become one of the most divisive states in the entire nation in the early pinnings of 2018, but this latest move will leave you bewildered.[/h] The liberal haven of California has long been home to some of the nation’s most progressive bits of legislation. The state itself is making an absolute killing off of so-called “sin taxes” on cigarettes and other vices, passed by lawmakers under the guise of inflation as a means of deterrence.
Again, we’re simply looking at California lawmakers telling their constituents what they can, and more importantly cannot, do.
Of course, given the liberal makeup of the state, gun rights have been under a constant attack by these same legislators, and they’re making yet another move to disqualify certain residents from being able to purchase a firearm.While California hides once again behind the ruse that they are working for the safety of their people, there are plenty of worrisome questions that still need answering.
First of all, what is to prevent Californians from using this anonymous service to impinge on the gun rights of their fellow Americans? Secondly, once you have determined that you are no longer at risk for suicide, do you simply re-report yourself as “okay”? What sort of psychological background is being examined? Is the state keeping this list secure?
There are too many questions left unanswered for Californians to believe that this will actually work, and the legislation will likely find its way to the circular file before long.
If not, however, there will be a serious conservation coming for Californians who aren’t subscribed to the state’s leftist lunacy.
