what is the story about them?? i was reading well looking though some books at borders and heard a lot of peopl talk about them what are they all about

A rat motor is a big block Chevy motor. Its a slang term for them.

Well lets see, 4.25" bore and 4" stroke give you 454 cubic inches. The blocks are large and beffy and can hold 1000+Hp. The heads are of a design and size that can accomodate huge valves so they can move lots of air. I have no Idea what the big deal is about them.
