Default Ok, ok, ok...

I've been thinking alot about what I want to do. Be patient with me here...

I'm thinking about just doing some smaller things, ie sway bars, brakes, wheels, and maybe headers. I will save the heads and cam for later, when I can really go all the way, or when I finally have my 1st gen.

Question... Mac midlength's, through a catalyst (hi flow cats) Y-pipe. Are the Mac's any good? Are they a big pain in the ass to put in, over any other header?

Dino,

I have the MACs. They are pretty easy to install. Now that I have done it and know how it won't be a big deal. They seem to be pretty good to me fit and finnish wise.

Macs are a favorite on F-bodies.
Lots of people choose Macs.
Probably the easiest header to install... at least thats what ive gathered from cz28.com and peoples testimonials.

I like my mac midlengths (all macs for ls1 are midlength). Definitely an easy install, people used to complain about the coating they have (not jet-hot coated or anything), but mine have never rusted.. had them on for about a year now. Also still have the mac "hi-flow" cats + mac y pipe.. not sure if those are holding me up though.

the cats actually flow worse then stock. if you have to run them, then do it. otherwise take them off. BUT no cats, macs, and an open exhaust = horrid RASP!!!!!

no doubt the macs make great power and can be picked up cheap on the net used, but for the sound, nothing beats the LTs

I have the I had heard the MAC cats were not so good too. I have the high flow cats by Random they rated pretty good flow wise over stock.

Well, I may go with the Macs, as my last engine compartment mod for a while. I'll probably get some SLP cats to put in the Y-pipe, because I've heard those are good.

So I'll do Macs with cats, brakes, finish my suspension, and wheels. Then that will be the end of my modding for a while. At least until I get the first gen and get it done. Then I'll have something to drive while I take the T/A off line for a 'pick me up'.
