Blackbob, if your budget is "VERY" low, save a little more money to get you a decent 3rd gen. That $675.00 one was bound to be a moneypit in maintenance. Look for a Tuned Port 350 model since it will give you the most bang for the buck. An H.O. (carbureted) or a Tuned Port 305 are decent as well, but the cylinder heads suck if your really get into the motor later on. A decent TPI 350 should be around $2-3K or less. If you read car mags like GM High Tech, Chevy High Performance and such, you will see there is a resurgence in tech articles and speed parts for these cars, ie. late-model Vortec head swaps, Holley Street Ram intakes, etc. Good luck.

Thanks guys,

Yeah I know ptient is a vertue. But I gotta work this summer I also gotta find a way to get to work. Price don't really bother me but I got like a month to get in in order. My moms paying for it and she's a single mom so it's not like ew can even afford to drop 3grand for a car. She jsut bought her self a saburban for 1,500 bucks. After I put a new head on it baby runs like it's brand new. As far as muney pits go yeah it happens but her in florida you never really know what your gonna get new or used. All in all if I can't seem to quinch my thirst for a 3rd gen i'll buy a Nissan Z and call it a day.
