A4 wont shift!
When i am in 4th gear, and i floor it, it drops to 3rd like it should. However, when its time to shift into 4th again, it just bangs of the limiter and sits in the red line area. It usually shifts after about 5 seconds.
From a dead stop, this has never happened. Only when downshifting.
Some one mentioned to me that it may not be getting 100% line pressure, Does that make sense? could it be that?

So your let it bang off the limiter for a while to see if it would shift??? WTF?

what are you doing shifting into 4th at WOT?... thats like 130mph! bad B4C! do not pass go, do not collect $200.
also I'd avoid that.. the 3->4 shift is always the first to take a hike... especially when your running on old contaminated atf and a clogged filter

yea do NOT shift into 4th or overdrive at WOT, your tranny will hate you. the bands and clutches will be dead. any time the tranny wont shift, i look to tranny slipage = rebuild time.
also it has been years and years (93 i think was last time) you needed the "tranny tricker" of the 700r days.
