Default Is hitting the limitor b/w shifts hurt mph?

my car has had some modifications over the winter including a new set of 28x9" et drags(previous was the small 26" tire). so i was tagging the limitor HARD about 5-6 times b/w the 2-3 shift. it laid on the limitor a solid 3-5 tenths of a second! lol. gonna have to get that changed via edit pretty soon. i was trapping 116.8 mph with my cam only car and pretty heavy (only weight reduction back seat, front sway bar, and spare/jack) and my 220 lbs ass doest help! i wonder what my mph would have been? also i need to wire a convertor lock-up switch. i think that will give me a mph or so too.

Yeah its gonna hurt your MPH and E.T. You need to adjust your limiter.

Yeah sweet looking Trans Am

Thats a good trap speed for hiting the limiter, what cam did you go with if you dont mind me asking? What type of headers do you have?
Now you got me leaning towards maybe a auto instead a manual lol.

thanks all! i really like the pic too. it is just the weld prostar big-n-little combo. 15x3 and 15x8 with 275/50/15 nittos out back. the springs are el cheapo Mac springs i got back in 2000. i am sure they are VERY similar to all the other lowering springs out there. they dont seem to be the best for hooking but still decent. stock shocks. i am looking to get Hals soon but i will loose that lowered stance. skinnys are shorter than stock tires and wheels anyways so the front is WAY low.

my cam is a comp XE grind. i call it the gator cam! lol. it is a 230/230 .574" 111 LSA cam in the auto. i love it. it is a great cam for a bigger stall car like mine. most think big cams and autos dont mix, i disagree.

i also run jethot coated Hooker LT headers. they work and i got them cheap. i used to run dynatechs but they were too much work maintaining them.

also autos will never mph like the manual cars but we can get them damn close! i used to be a hard core MN6 guy but i can run with the best of them now at a reasonable raceweight. i just need a lock up switch to run the big end with them if they can catch up with me!
