A couple of weeks ago when my dad and I did the rear brakes, I noticed that the axle brace seemed to bend slightly outward towards the rear of the car (not the panhard bar, but the long, flat-looking piece above it that is connected to the floorpan on one side and the panhard bracket on the other side). Is this normal? I'm thinking it's damage from my accident this past summer. If it is bent do any companies sell a replacement, because all I see is that most of the suspension companies just sell upgraded panhard rods? Thanx.

 

yeah i know what your talking about.. Ive never seen an aftermarket bar for that... I'll take a better look at mine tomorrow and see if mine bents inward or not.. Last i rememberd it didnt but i'll take a closer look.

 

nope.. its straight.. bending up down out or in.

 

Thanks ZDriver. I have a the factory shop manual for my car and it's pictured to be bent downward, not outward and away from the axle like mine. Looks like I'll have to grab one from the junkyard. BTW, are you going to the SLP show in Orlando this coming 29th? Looking to caravan with some fellow F-bods.

 

yeah i'll be going as long as i finish everything in time.. Im doing a lot of work on my car. i've got 1 project finished, the 2nd one is almost done, i start the 3rd monday, then the do the 4th, and hopefully get the 5th in before slp day but its optional. Ive already registered. We'll talk more about meeting up when the 29th is coming up.

as for that cross member in the back.. looking at it from the bottom is straight, the top is curved like a "n" on top and the front and back sides are straight too... Should be really cheap at a junk yard. Im sure u could get the same one off a v6 model too.
