Problems with my vette
I have an 89 vette sitting in the garage, been having some alternator problems with it to where it wasnt charging properly but would start after it was jumped(duh) but now i tried to move it about a week ago and all it does is crank, its getting spark, how can i tell if its getting gas (which i think is the problem) and how might i fix/troubleshoot the problem? the dealership quoted me 2300 for new injectors, wires, distributor and plugs, i later told him after i listened to his rambling to shove it and id never pay that much for some damn injectors, but if anyone knows, or might know please reply.

Turn on your lights with the car off to see if your battery is dead too. Try charging your battery or swap it with a known good one... If your car starts and then eventually dies then its your alternator not recharging the battery. To accelerate this process turn the radio way up and turn on the brights.
Buy a fuel pressure gauge... I forget where the valve is on the TPI engines but follow the fuel rail and look for a valve to hook your fuel pressure gauge into.. When you find the valve (could be behind the intake manifold too) uncap your gas cap, then screw in the connector to the valve. Turn your the ignition to the accesory position. Your fuel gauge should build pressure very quickly to 38-42 pounds of pressure. 20 Pounds will start the engine but it'll run really bad. Any less it wont start. You can also hear the fuel pump motor pressure the tank if u listen near the gas cap when u turn on the accesory position. Now turn the igntion and see if the pressure holds then its not your fuel.
Also you have an ignition/ spark module ($15)thats on the inside of the distributor... Its white with a 2 pin connector in it. This little bastard can really stump you because you'll still have spark when it goes bad. But its easy to get to.
I really doubt its your starter so Im not going to go there..
I'll charge you 1/2 the dealer price to fix it
But hope this helps. Good luck

its not the battery, i dropped 5 in, my uncle his wife and her parents own electro battery so its easily accessable, but anyways it has spark, but it doesnt feel like alot, with my 4 cyl's you could literally see the electricty and feel it strongly if u held the spark plug wire towards metal, when i did it with the vette, it felt like a little nip and i couldnt see it, so maybe ill check that little box in the dist in the morning, ive been trying to locate a fuel filter (is there even one on the car?) and was going to see if it was pumping gas, if that little box doesnt fix it i suppose ill try to get a fuel pressure guage but it looks as if the two fuel rails run to the front of the block and straight down, so i might have to get underneath...but thanks for the help, hopefully she'll crank up for me tomorrow

make things easy on yourself. Go out to an autozone, buy a fuel gauge, use it for a day and return it getting your money back. The car does have a fuel filter but with the fuel gauge you can tell right away if its your fuel system. Then from there u can further isolate it to your filter or pump.
