LS1 is faster, but it will be more expensive. Honestly, unless you plan on become a hard core drag racer, a LT1 will be just fine for you. I'm perfectly happy with my LT1.

Another plus is that the LT1 has been around longer, so there is more info out there for those cars and all of the problems that can happen with them have arisen. In one night I was able to find out all the problems that were gonna happen with my 94 LT1. I know thats kind of subjective, but generally speaking I believe its true.

No, no, no. Al came out with his big gun, I was just messin around and saying that the LT5 would be my choice. Not that I could afford one on my salary.

I would say the LT series is the better engine for drag racing, and serious stuff. I have seen quite a few LS1 and LQ4 blocks and build ups run great times, but then fail.

the LT1/LT4 blocks tend to hold up better long term from what I have seen.. and once the STOCK label is off performance is almost equal until the real mods go in.. then part for part the LT series begins to add up a bit..

not dogging the LS1 here at all.. just my observation.

then again my 355 LT1 went boom, so it goes both ways..
