2001 monte carlo stalling
when at a stop i have to hold the throttle alittle when holding the brake or it will stall. car was givin to me they said it was the o2 sensor. i dont think that is it. it sounds like the tourqe converter to me. it is an atx. anybody got any ideas?
i just moved to mass. and its freezing with tons of snow so i didnt get to cheack all this small stuff. will do and post up.
^ ur stupid...it could be a bad o2 sensor...if it was Idle air controller then it would throw a cel

Even still i would check the little plastic vaccum tube that runs over the intake just behind the TB. The bracket for the cables hold it down into the rubber gromet in the intake. That gromet goes bad all the time causing the problems you have.
Yea actually an o2 sensor can cause a car to stall. because if the car is dumping too much fuel due to a faulty o2 senor it'll kill the plugs (due to getting soaked in fuel) and shut itself down. How do I know this? Because that was an issue that I FIXED on my friends girlfriends 02 monte carlo RETARD. But it also ended up needing a new fpr because of the 255 fuel pump that they installed on it, because they thought it wouldnt run due to a bad fuel pump.
SO SHUT THE FUCK UP FATHEAD JR.

guarantee you its not the 02 making it stall. its most likely the IAC valve , hence holding the gas a little keeps it running. try taking it off and cleaning before you buy a new one. If its all gummed up clean it with some carb cleaner. they do go bad but not that often . more times than not they just need to be cleaned
