Default ~~please help~~~

ok.i have a dodge ram 1500 with a 79 chevy camaro z28 350 in it and i just got it like a day ago.the guy i got it from said it needed to be shimmied>>??i feel slo but what does that mean??lol he said that was like a spacer for the starter but i couldnt find anything like that..i would appreciate the help,,,,,,,,,,,

how about you tell us what it is or is not doing and then just maybe we can help you out with this. but some of the older style starters needed shims.

yea. if when you try to start it the starter sounds like its either straining or grniding it will need to be shimmed. alot of the older small blocks and even some big blocks needed shims in them. i had one that needed about 6 shims in it one time. you could only imagine the awful sound that damn thing made without any shims lol.
