Default 97 Camaro RS

I've got a 97 Camaro RS 3.8l v6, the car will crank over but wont start. If I spray a little starter fluid in the intake it fires right up but wont stay running, also has a hot start problem so I know it's got to do with fuel not getting to the injectors. My question is what is the best way to test my fuel pump without dropping the tank? I was thinking disconnect the line after the fuel filter, try to start it and see if fuel came out, is this a good way to test or are there better more accurate ways?

Fuel filter is fairly new, maybe 5k miles on it and I rarely run my car under 1/8 tank of gas.

lol, this is josh, you discovered tr i see.

take the line off before the filter, just in case by some strang occurance your filter is uber clogged and no fuel is getting passed.

Had the same problem with my 01 camaro. You should here the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key. If you dont it is prob that. And instead of doping the gas tank we just went in through the hatch. Pulled the carpet up found were the pump is and cut a hole. Then just epoxied it back together. Saved tons of time and work. Plus you cant tell cause you just put the carpet back over it.

(Fuel pump for 01 camaro... $400) <--- Sucks

wow... first off you want to hear your pump kick on. if you don't hear it you have a problem. secondly put a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on your fuel rail and turn the key. you should see fuel pressure. not sure about the v6 but the v8 is 41-47psi. if you aren't getting good pressure it can be your fuel filter which is cheap enough and easy enough you should just go a head and replace anyways or ur fuel pump. if you are going to replace your fuel pump don't buy a stock one. just go buy a walburo pump. it is only about 100 bucks.

and yes you can cut a hole in the rear deck above your pump and replace the pump. it does make it a lot easier.
