I was considering stroking LT1 350 to a 383. I was wondering if you guys know of any creditable shops who specialize in engine rebuilds and preferably for the domestics/f-bodies.

Well the only thing I know about is John Lingenfelter. I know he is out of Florida. Try Lingenfelter.com for his prices and all that stuff.

If you decide that you want to build this up give AFD (Air Flow Development) a call. They built the motor in my Camaro. There the best around.

Lingenfelter gets much respect from me but hes expensive. To expensive.
Wildride... How much did they charge for labor and what kind of rebuild? 355? 383? Ported heads?
I got an estimate from a shop in Texas for 2300 dollars for labor and parts for a 383. Didnt include ported heads or cam/ roller rockers. Or bigger injectors... couple other things too.

Lingenfelter gets much respect from me to but you are just paying for the name. $2300 sounds cheep almost to cheep. I’m not trying to sound like a know it all but you do get what you play for. Trust me. What are your goals with the car? 1/4 times 1/8 times horsepower and torque? Do you plan to use spray or boost? Also what is you price range?

Dude... I want that strokers soooo bad! man.....
Well they quote:e74588bd5bd me 2300 for all the parts and labor but like I said it didnt include the ported heads cam rockers springs injectors. Which would be about 5000 dollars.. Then I would have to spend money on dyno tuning unless tuning is included.. not sure.. Bigger fuel pump. Ahhh its like an addiction... And im on cold turkey right now without my car... Yeah like i said on the phone with yuh.. looking for around 500 at the crank. Or possibly 450 at low compression so i can run more boost on a future forced induction setup. I would probably spray though seeing that it would be 2.5 - 5.5 thousand cheaper. Looking for 11s in the quarter. Course Traction would be a problem with what i currently have.

Sorry to cut you short today but I had to go. I was under my car and was doing something that I needed both hands. Give me a call next week so you can see what type of work we do and also try and stop by next week so you can look around and get a feel for everything. CALL first to see if we are there.

Mike

WildRide.......if you are talking about Montgomerys work either at AFD or at his shop. I will stand behind it 100% he does great work and if ever a problem arises he will take care of you. One of the best in the area in my eyes.
