Default need new brakes

my girlfriend is getting me new brakes for my birthday. (woot)
i have the 3.4 v6 firebird with disc fronts and drum rear.
what are good brands to look for when getting brakes, i dont need super crazy racing brakes just want a good brand.

Agreed, Believe it or not I've had a nice experience on auto zone pads. Their duralast gold is made here in the states (not Chinese junk) they seem to handle heat okay and don't glaze over. that and AZ has a teriffic Lifetime warranty, wear them out and new ones are free.
