Default my bird is ticking....

(95 3.4l manual)
i thought it was my drive belt (it was cracking really badly) but i replaced that and it still has a light ticking noise coming from my engine bay. it sounds like its coming from the alternator but i don't know what would cause it to click. (again not truly sure if thats where its coming from) It sounds like an old beater car where the oil is either really bad or really low.... my oil is a little low but it's been at that same spot for lots of miles. still have about 600miles till i do the next oil change too.. idk what is causing it and hope u guys have some ideas and recommendations for me to check/do.
thanks a lot
sorry for bad spelling/abbreviations/grammar.

a click/tick could be alot of things

loose rocker, stuck lifter, broken spring, arching, etc

try to post up a sound clip or pinpoint the sound with a mechanic's stethoscope
