Im getting another engine for my trans am, and besides upgrading the oil pump, and possibly adding headers are there any good mods for the motor that wount kill my wallet with labor.

Well, cheapest and fastest upgrades you can do would be NOS and a computer chip or Dyno, best for your money, there are also a few small things like power adders etc... but I dont think you get your moneys worth on small things like that (power enhancement boxes etc...) also mybe chagning out your rear end to a better gear ratio isnt to much if you can find the parts or bigger point injectors would give you alittle nice boost too.

Oh can also your intake system, cold are intake and manifold, shave down the sides for smoother air flow, it can be done by yourself with some cheap house tools and helps with air flow.

 

stall converter can drop half a second off your 1/4 mile times. They are about $500-700.

dont bother with tuning until after you do headers or cam.

 

headers is in the lead for mods....i got a flowmaster on it now, with an exhaust cut out, and jus a kn filter. Being my motor is f'd (thanks overpaid gm oil pump designers) i got put another one and would much rather have it modded while its out the car. I was also considering doing headers, intake mani with throttle body, ram air, and a retune. Im not looking for crazy power just enough to be able haul arse when i want to.....and here is the current sad site
