Too Much is ALMOST Enough

4L80E Downshits too often

I drive an 04 Chevy box truck with a 6.0 and a 4 speed auto. It downshifts to 3rd when I try to cruise over 70 on the highway. How do I keep it from kicking down to 3rd?

Its my work truck and its a piece of shit, Im not gonna buy a tuner for it. Cant I disconnect the kickdown cable or something like that?
