Default LS1 question

How much of a pain would it be to drop into a 92 silverado?

You might get some back pain, but that's nothing some Advil can't clear up.

Anything can be made to fit with enough work. The LS1 motor mounts are in a different position and will need a tranny X-member and all accessories and PCM, but its doable.

+1 on the conversion mounts. Best way to go, is with a donor car, a totalled out trans-am or camaro, and swap the motor, wiring harness and whole nine yards out. Otherwise, you're asking for alot of un-needed work and nightmares.

I use the conversion mounts that adapt over and use stock GM SBC mounts and put it in right location. Use shorty headers for Camaro. If your truck was originally an O/D auto you shouldnt need a trans xmember. If you have the stock camaro/vette harness $500 will turn it into a stand alone harness, or buy a new one for a $1000 or less. Electric fans a must, better drop in fuel pump, fuel line adapters, Intake filter of some sort, etc.

in late 93 they started using the 4l60E in the silverados. early 93 and back was TH400, TH350, and 700R4 which he most likely has the 700R4
