If you have a 4t65e then yes you can use your current transmission. You're also going to need a complete wiring harness, pcm, and complete accessories and lines from a 3800 2nd Gen Wbody.

I checked two weeks ago and LKQ/Cophers in Clearwater didn't have any 3800's that were worth pulling, but they did have a couple Grand Prixs and one Regal LS that you could pull everything else you need off of. Starky Inc, Clearwater Automotive, and Teddy Bears want $850-$1150 for a complete motor minus acc. w/ 80k-120k miles.

Your best bet for finding a motor is LKQ in Crystal River. They can source from any other LKQ and I found them to be cheaper. I purchased an L26 w/ 64k miles for $500 and they delivered it from Ft.Myers to their Clearwater location.

I replied to your PM. You need to find out what transmission you have. I'm not sure if the 3400 came with a 4t45e or a 4t65e. If you have a 4t65e then you can use it. You're going to need that list of parts to run the 3800 period. Just get the front clip of a wrecked 3800 2nd Gen Wbody and swap everything over.
