info needed
i have a 92 lt1 motor with a 700r4 trans.now i know the trans is electronically controlled, so my question is ....is it possible to make this work in a g-body car?if so what would i have to do? or am i better off getting a th 350 chevy trans? thanks in advance tony 727-612-7823
you say a 92 LT-1 and if memory serves me correctly thats a vette Lt-1 as the lt-1 wasnt offered in the camaro till 93. that tranny is not a 700R4 if its electronically controled its a 4L60e. yes u can use that tranny in a g-body. i am doing the same swap with a 86 monte ss and a 96 impala ss lt1. im leaning toward a T-56 tho but u need the wireharness out of the doner car. a website to check out is Monte Carlo SS Information & Resources despite the fact u may not have a monte there is alot of info there.
the years for LT1's are:
92-96 Corvette
93-97 Fbody
94-96 Bbody
a 700R4 is an non-electrically controlled 4L60E essentially and vice versa

The lockup converter is used on the trans and its a simple 4 wire hookup, though it should be included in your harness so long as you use a 92-93 pcm, you really only need to wire your brake switch signal wire to the pcm to let it control the tcc properly.
