I dunno deacon, I think with the proper suspension mods it'd be, a little controllable. Granted, people usually stretch the frame when they do it for kit cars, a lot of them toss v8's in there.

I'd take a look at the 3800 swap if i were you, you'll have a bit more room to work with, it fits great and if you get the supercharged version you'll have plenty of power also.

But at the end of the day, you'll still be driving a Fiero. Don't forget that one important fact.

don't be scared....

plus tons of people have done this... it makes for a fast little toy, nothing to really DD but who wants to do that anyways. I think its way cooler than a 7 with a carbed 350 auto in it.

I thought the gm 3800 supercharged was a popular swap for those and the series 3 with 260 hp would be good power in that little car ... Maybe some pulleys injectors exhaust tune you could have 300 hp easy and thats alot

if you have the chedder and the time, the v8 swap is pretty nasty in a 2600 lbs car. I have an '88 Fiero I am going to swap in the engine from my old El Camino, aka Rust-amino. A mild 400hp 406ci sbc.... AFTER I finish my Mopar.

Check out V-8 Archie -- Pontiac Fiero V-8 Kits and Kit Cars for kits and advice. He as a complete kit with instructional video for $2,500. It even has brackets for mounting the accessories so you can use the original AC compressor. Of course, he has cheaper kits too.
