heading down to gandy and i came across this newer m5. the guy was pacing me for a few miles then coming to a stop light he is down shifting and revving the engine.

my wife says you aren't going to race him are you and i said no that would be a waste of time.

well the guy spins the tires when he takes off so i am like what the fuck i hit the gas. kicks the rear to the right. i get out of the gas to get traction again and hit the gas again. this time it kicks left, but i stay in it. the m5 has already a car and a half on me.

needless to say by 110mph i ran him down and passed him. i let off at 120 and he kept in it. i get next to him and he says not bad for a 2007 500 right.
i laughed and said to him not bad for an lt1 right. hahaha
he then say i also have a ferriai that will take you. i laughed and drove off.

well i didn't know it at the time but that m5 comes with a v-10 rated at 500hp and something like 383lbs of torque mated to either a 6 speed or a 7 speed manual. only runs a mid to high 12 in the quarter but not too bad i say for my first kill.

Nice race, I haven't had the pleasure of running a new M5. They sound stout.

 

i was very happy with the race when i got home and was able to find out a bit more about them. i really thought it was just going to be a straight waste of my gas.
