Default Whats better?

OK basically I got an 03 Monte Carlo cheap as hell...its an LS tho and Id like to either turbo/supercharge it. My friend found an 06 SS engine that looks like it would work fine for 1 grand. I'd have to put maybe another grand in for mounts and other odds and ends. I was told if not the new motor I should get a supercharger cuz I have a high compression rate. Im liking the new motor ideal but I wanted some other opinions.

My motor:
V6 / 3.4 ltr / 55k miles

New motor:
V8 / 5.3ltr / 9k miles

So whats better in your opinions?
Turbo?
Super?
New Engine?

You'll need the complete subframe, engine, trans, cv axles, wiring harness, and PCM. Just buy the car so you'll have everything there.

Your best bet is to put an L67 in there. A supercharged 3800 will be a drop in deal. You just need to find a wrecked 00-05ss and get the motor out a Grand Prix GTP or Regal GS. Check out MotorSwap Brian Teel has built a very thorough database. They also make a CSC kit for the 3400. One guy in Florida is running it and he's had good results. OK I'm looking into it and why exactly cant I just put this in? You know, instead of getting another car? I have an 03 LS...Can't I simply change the engine and use the stock tranny, axles, etc.?

IMO Ed wants too much money for his motors. Sometimes you're better off going to a salvage yards. The motor will bolt up to your transmission. You would still need all the other acc., wiring harness, radiator hoses, power steering hoses, throttle cables, PCM ect. Brian Teel has a list of everthing on his site. The L67 will go easier into your car because it was designed to accept a 3800. The LS3 will be more involved. The 3rd Gen Wbodies are different then 2nd Gens.

OK I'm sorry to seem soo stupid but I'm new to engine swapping. Ill defiantly have to have someone help me but I was hoping I could get parts and everything now or at least get the motor and main parts that need to be ordered or cant be bought at like an auto parts store.

1. The L67 is the kind of supercharger and the 3800 is the motor, right?
2. 3800...would that be 3.8ltr?
3. Whats PCM?
4. And why doesn't the wiring harness, hoses, and cables simply hook to the new motor?
5. You are saying that basically the engine will work, right?

Again sorry to be such a bother to you Ill rep again when I can lol

PCM is your Powertrain Control Module. Its the engines computer. Your engine bay was designed to hook up to a 3400. The 3800 is a different motor and has different connections.
