i thought the opti's main problem is it's lack of resistantance to moisture. the opti my dad bought this last time was suppost to be the latest version that is sealed a bit better than the originals. now i don't know this to be true i am just stating what i heard.

what is the other issues with the opti besides it's moisture problem.

the ozone and debris that builds up on the optical window. basically, its still a points distributor but it is on the front of the engine. i've heard rumors of people using compressed air to clean them out through the vacuum port on the 95+ optis but i've never tried it.

the crank trigger setup would totally bypass it. as the crank trigger is the new pickup (but magnetic, not optical)
