Default cat problems 02 camaro

got an 02 camaro 3.8, heard some rattle noises coming from the catalytic converter that have since subsided but I've seen those block up and choke a motor before. I'm no exhaust expert and was wondering is anybody knows if trouble is coming my way or should I just live with the check engine light until I can afford to get it fixed?

could be exhaust leak or the internals of the cat broke off and rattling around in the exhaust....either way you live in FL so just cut em off

do you know if doing nothing will possibly cause a problem? between work and school even getting down there to chop it and run some new pipe of a major problem.

The chance that they're clogging up is very small, especially for an '02. Most likely something is loose. If you get under there with a wrench you should be able to fix it.

my cat on my old 94 formula clogged.. it got extremely sluggish and sounded a bit different.. i cut it off and it was good as new.. rattling is usually due to the exhaust being too close to the body of the car.. best way to fix it is to find an exhaust shop, put it on a lift and check the bolts and shit..

assuming you don't have any crazy mods and you're under 80k miles, it's covered under warranty.
