Default Thinking about parting car out...

I'm seriously considering going back to the dark side....I'm probably going to trade my SS in on a new GT.

Now, before I do that (if I do it), I'm going to need to swap the stuff I have on the SS for stock stuff.

Wheels: Ameican Racing Longboard 17x10s. Like most wheels, there is some curb rash, nothing real serious. They do not make these wheels anymore. They were pretty expensive (roughly $300-$400 per wheel). Tires are Nitto 555s, 285/40/17 rear, 275/40/17 front. Have about 60-70% tread, no burnouts, about 15K miles on them. You can see a pic of them in the sig, I might be able to get a better pic.

I traded these wheels for my chrome SSs, my tires were new F1s, his had bald drag radials on the rear. We traded and I gave him $400. I know that was'nt the best deal ever, but I really like the wheels. That will give you an idea on what kind of deal I'll be looking for. I will consider anything at this point though.

I'm looking for someone who has stock SS wheels. Either the 8 spoke or 5 spoke, chrome or silver. Obviously the chrome are worth a little more, and the condition of the wheels and tires will obviously affect the deal.

Panhard Rod: I have a BMR adjustable panhard rod for sale. $75 OBO. (I have the stock rod).

Eibach Sportline springs: $150 OBO. ( I have stock springs)

K&N FIPK: I need a stock or aftermarket airbox...we'll have to trade. (I did not keep my stock one)

If any of you guys can help me with this stuff, please let me know. Thanks.

lol.....they are'nt that slow...I'm looking at an auto (I'm tired of sticks)...I'm hoping for high 13s stock...I think that's realistic I have'nt actually seen one run at the track, but I'm assuming they are not complete pigs, i hope

I raced a yellow gt with a Cold Air intake and Drag Radials at sunshine and its best was a 9.5. I did an 8.95 because I had the stock 245s I hope to do better with these 315 I got on the car now.

You don't run hight 13's with your '01 SS? Please, tell me you run better than high 13's. If you don't then a GT won't help you. What you need is a driver mod not a different car.

Bone stock it turned 13.6s at 104......during the day, in August.

Have'nt ran it since.

I've always been a mustang guy. This car fell in my lap basically. The fit and finish of these cars suck...there are alot of things I don't like about these cars compared to mustangs. It seems like GM spent 99% of their time/resources developing a kick ass motor/tranny and the rest of the car was an afterthought.
