I was parked at Sonny's having dinner tonight. Some asshole apparently when backing out ran into my car, and took off w/o leaving any way of contact. So if anything it will come from my insurance if I put a claim in.

My front bumper cover is torn in 2 places and it broke out my left turn signal lens.

How much does it cost for a new bumper cover? Should you get it from Junkyard or from dealer?

New bumper cover at the junky won't be expensive, however the dealer will rape you with it before they give it to you if you go that route. That is, if they even have one.

The lens can be had there, too.

 

dealer is roughly $400+ and then there's paint

junkyard....meh....good luck finding one in decent condition, depending on the extent of the damage you could be able to get the current one repaired and painted for relatively cheap....$200ish local place repaired and fully painted mine.

 

as far as left turn signal I know someone who has prolly has one lying around, same guy that bought your hood

 

Lol. PlanZ than. Yeah that would be cool. I didnt know they could repair the tears like that? do they melt it back together or glue it or something. Now that is something I will look into.

I can get one at the dealership it has been sitting there since 1997 he said out the door for 300 bucks. But if I can get this one repaired, that'd be nice.

 

$300 is not bad at all for a new one! make sure you take it out of the box and make sure its untouched, also if its been sitting since 97 they might be willing to go down on it. Tell them you only have $250 and if they come back saying they have to sell it for $300, just be like "ok il try to borrow the money from somebody" and take that shit!

 

Yeah it is a helluva deal. 300 is as low as he can go, WITH tax. It is shown for I think 349 w/o tax, so I am saving probably 75-90 so bucks.

 

you can "plastic weld" some bumpers back together, or use a 3m plastic repair glue, but it all depends on how big the tears are, usually its easier, to just replace the bumper if there torn, but i fix bumpers everyday that are crushed in, dented and deformed, if there torn, replace- mike
