Meth Injection
Anyone have any experience with this??? I gotta 04 S/C gto and Im switching out the pulley, Ive been told to get the meth injection with a 2.6 pulley (9-9.5lbs), but would be fine without it with a 2.75 (7-8lbs). Will that last pound or two really make that much more heat??? Also anyone got any ball park figures on the cost of one???

I don't know if you need meth injection at 9lbs vs 7lbs, but if Jeremy or one of the GTO guys is telling you that I'm sure they have a good reason.
If I were buying an alky kit, I'd get one from Julio at www.alkycontrol.com Its supposedly a great kit, plus he's "local" (bradenton). I think his kits run about $450 but its all top quality stuff.

i actually have one of julio's kits still for sale that i had on my s/c'd LT1. i really liked it once i figured out why i sucked at gravity
i like his system cause you get alot of control with it, such as what pressure to kick on, how much flow you will have at initial hit and the ramp rate for how much it adds as your boost grows. i also never went through a whole lot of it which was nice, cause meth was like 3.00 a gallon and would last over a month. helped me tremendously being as it was not intercooled and i would normally see IAT's in the 170-190 range going through the traps, whereas with the kit i was at 80-100* IATs during summer months, and at one time it was about 60 or so out, and measured IAT's as low as 40*. also some people would say use nitrous, but the reason nitrous makes so much power is the fact itll burn hotter in the cylinder and it actually promotes detonation but provides a cooler intake charge. with meth, you get the cooler intake charge but add fuel instead of oxygen and as a result, not chance of it causing detonation.

Correct on all counts. Basically reduces detonation so you can turn the boost up and 3.00 a gallon is cheaper then race gas.
I have one Julio's kit's. First off it is about the best aftermarket product I have ever seen. He really puts alot of effort into his products. ONe of the very nice points it is a boost dependant system...stay out of boost and you are using no alky. I would have to check but I believe United Speed World sells alky for less then 3.00 bucks. I have not bought in a while though.
Julio is local but last time I was at his place it is in St Pete...not Bradenton. He is a fantastic person and excellent to deal with. You will not go wrong with his product.

Yeah Im still looking around to get some other alternatives, right now I guess its a problem with air flow and the fact that Im not getting enough of it.
