Pretty staright forward. Remove DS, remove starter, unbolt torque arm on the tranny, put jack under tranny, remove crossmember, lower tranny. Unbolt and have another set of hands to help you manuver it outta the car. It has been a while on a 3rd gen so I don't remember how the clutch is set up or how much of the exhaust has to come off, you probably will have to disconnect the lines. Also make sure you disconnect any wires going to the tranny. Remember to give it a good reach around up top when you lower it to check for wires. It isn't too bad just keep an eye out for the little things but you should be okay. Don't know where you are from but if you need help shoot me a PM.

What he said ^ , but remove the shifter

I would go to Harbor Freight and buy the tranny jack. Its red with a white platform on the top and small. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=39178 That is the best tool Ive ever bought so far! No more bench pressing trannys trying to get the spline to line up, no more balancing act on the jack hoping it doesnt fall off and shit. I love it! It will more than pay for itself the first time you use it.

Also, make sure you use red lock tight on all the bolts that move (pressure plate, flywheel, etc..)

Did you get it done? I am doing mine this weekend for the first time on this car. What clutch/pressure plate are you using? Did you buy the trans lift like Carl said?

he hasnt gotten it done yet because no one advised him on disconnecting the clutch fork from the throw out bearing
pull it towards the back of the car and down to get it off.

... benching trannys are ok.. I think the T56 only weighs 90 lbs or so..

Also keep the tranny tilted forward so fluid doesnt come out the back...

Buy new flywheel bolts if your taking it off to get resurfaced.... or a new one... bolts are not meant to be used again... but can if u want but its not suggested by the manufacturer

and bring beer
