Default need help whats the lightest year of camaro made.

well some of u might know but i'm planning on building a tci pro stock car to run in the pro edlebrock series.and i'm looking to use a early 2nd gen or 3rd gen camaro.just my problem is with the size of a engine i'm building for the class that my race weight is really low.if i use the 3rd gen it will be 2725 with me in the car and 2nd gen will be around 2650.and i can deduct 50 more # if i dont use a 4500 series carb.i would really like to run a camaro but in all i think i might have to find a old chevy ll to get down to these weights.but i've been trying to find a site that list the weight of all the years of the camaros but i cant find one so i figured i would give this a shoot.

2003 would be the lightest year.

i've been looking and i still cant find shit.it wouldn't be any problem getting down to that weight if i could use a fiberglass front end an doors with lexan windows and all aluminum inside.but i cant so i think a 62-64 chevy ll would be the best bet.

the fastest run to date in the class is a 8.80 in a 67 nova with a 413ci engine witch tiped the scales at 2950.engine made around 870hp and 640tq.i'm doing a 360ci engine or less.going to use a bryant billet crank around 42lbs not sure on the stoke probley a 3.335 or a 3.425.with some carrillo rods.and some light weight pistons.i got some pontiac 867 heads that flow over 350cfm on the intake side coming.compresion should be around 15.5-1.looking to get around 850 or better n/a.its going to be tuff though.probley have 5 diff custom cams made for the damn thing it will see alot of dyno time before it goes in the car.planning on building the engine first to see what kind of numbers i wll get before doing the car.if the numbers ant good then i will probley sell the engine.

would like to stay with a f body but its the weight of them.damn chevy they had to make them into heavy pigs.does anyone know of any camaros that have gotten down to 2600 pounds with no lexan or fiber glass parts but the hood.an even then it would still make me 75 pounds over weight.
