305 or 350??
I was getting my car tunned up and this guy that races off road trucks said that my car sounds like it has a 305. but it is supposed?? to have a 355. is there really any ways to tell the difference just by the sound of the engine??
Damn man that sucks. People try to jack you around about that. Only way to find out, is the casting numbers or pull off the head and measure. I almost bought a truck with a 350 in it, turned out to be a 305, lucky I checked.

no clue what it is out of but wouldnt a 750 holly make a small 305 run rich as shit cause it doesnt run rich after i got it tunned. i dont want to pull all that shit off it now. maybe if i want to put some new heads or something. not a huge deal if it is i can get a 350 4 bolt main for 20 bucks just dont want to have to rebuild it. thnx thought yea 305s are sloooow as shit.
Where can you get an undamaged 350 4 bolt for 20 bucks? I am interested. Like Alex Said check the casting numbers, in plain view around the back of the motor driverside bellhousing bolt up thing(lol).

depends what year block, I think somewhere in the mid to late 80s ont he back of the block, up top, drivers side, where the tranny connections, alot of motors say 5.7 or 5.0L
There is a slight different in sound between the 2, I could usally only tell though in 3rd Gen fbodies
