i bet you are going to start talking about peak tq numbers lol.

they have nothing to do with picking the right convertor.
sorry bout that I meant to post it as a question more of than a statement to the guy I'm asking for help

2800 stalls on ebay for $150 if you wanna see if he'll sell one offline to you

150 dollar stall on ebay? lol, go for it. they make awesome weight ballast. you fellas that are considering this need to do some reasearch. you are buying a used truck convertor repainted (maybe).

or afterwards, lets hit the track and i will give ya a "i told ya so"

but its your decision. i like to spend money to go quicker and faster.

also here is my .015

no such answer for "is this stall too big for the street"

no such answer for "is this stall good for my combo"

if you are basing it on a number of theoretical flash stall.

also if you are looking for cam duration and lobe seperation angle values at .050" valve lift to determine where peak power is made - lol. might as well use the old throw a dart at it method.

my cam values, shift point, and convertor flash point are all against these ideals.

but it works pretty decent for a street car.

I could understand wanting to save money by purchasing Pacesetter headers over Kooks.

But do it with a converter and you wont be very happy.

Actually, I shouldnt say that. Maybe you will be happy. but that is only because you have no idea what GOOD converter would have done.

actually I know someone that purchased the same convertor, from the same seller and had great results with his

sorry but $700+ stalls are out of my budget, I was hoping to try it out, if it sucks, oh well I'm $150 poorer

The one myltwon is talking about is a TCI converter.

IMO 2800 wouldn't be the optimal stall speed for maxium acceleration, however, factoring in that this car is daily driven, it's a good choice imo. Not everyone's goal is to go as absolutely fast as possible... he just wants more getup off the line without sacraficing daily drivability, and I think that's very wise.
