Default 700R4 leaks like a pig from the pan gasket.

This thing is driving me nuts, and before you gitter dones tell me to change the pan gasket, i already did, three times!!! Heres the deal, the transmission went in for a rebuild, it wasn't leaking, just slipping a little. I get it back from the rebuilder, install it in my truck, the transmission runs great and shifts perfect, but once it gets warm, and you put it in park and shut it off it just spews fluid from the pan gasket. itll leak for a long time. Itll leak while its running and in park, however, it wont leak if it is in any of the gears. I changed the gasket twice, still leaking, i then changed the gasket and the pan, with a known good pan, still leaking. And thats where im at now, anybody have any ideas.

If you guys have any ideas let me know..

yeah i can see it spew right out of the pan, like a river, ill go underneath and can see it leaking right out of the pan.... It is not the front pump seal, detent seal, dipstick seal. I forgot to mention it only leaks on the passenger side.

bro it sounds like the case maybe warped or the matting surfaces were the pan mates to the trans case is fucked up u should take a strait edge to it and check it

Yeah, I think the TQ spec on the pan bolts is 12 ft lbs or something. It's REALLY easy to over-tighten, and once you do, the bolt holes in the pan get that little raised up bung look to them. You might have to take a hammer to get 'em flat and then torque 'em to spec. Also, go to NAPA and get a rubber gasket. Discount/AutoZone like to give you those shit cork ones. They're worthless.

Yeah, i replaced the pan with a new one, and the gasket i got was a felpro rubber seal, ive been tightening them to spec with the rubber gaskets, and it still leaks, but like i said it is not even a drip its almost like theres pressure pushing it out..... Maybe that vent tube on the top is clogged, i brought the whole truck back to the shop that did the rebuild to look at it..... I hope he doesnt slap two gaskets glued together on it and say its fixed... If theres an internal problem i dont want to be on my way to daytona and have the transmission split in two. And im not in the mood to drop it again either, headers and a full exhaust do not make that job easy, especially when the truck is on jack stands and your on your back the whole time.
