go onto revxtreme.com and ask this or any V8 s10 question. they have a guy running 9s with that combo.

Putting a 13 second block and putting a 9 second block is pretty much the same deal.

Fairly easy swap as compared to the Ranger swaps. Mostly factory parts from a 4.3 will work. Get a aftermarket harness if running a FI engine as it would save you time and agitation if you've never decoded the factory harness. makes it plug and play mostly.

I am just getting into this swap myself except I am using a 5-speed. I know my shifter won't line up, crossmember, and some stuff for the clutch cable. This is all things you won't have to deal with. From what I have read 82-97 are almost the same. Same motor conversion parts. I was going to go with a vortec350 and keep it fuel injected with a plug and play but I got a 350 pretty much for free and just going to rebuild it and go the cheap way with edelbrock heads, intake, and whatnot. good luck

Thanks for all the info
best thing happend today. it was around 2:30 and made a run to autozone (starkey and eastbay). luck was on my side a 96 S10 looked like a clone of my truck but it had draglites on it i have pro stars. he already did the swap no beating of the fire wall none of that. he even drove it back to my shop so i could get pics of it for future reference. seams to be a simple job his truck was fucking nasty also 350 trick flow heads soild roller 630 630 and a 150 shot of Nitrous. truck was hooked the fuck up. thanks again

awesome. Now I just need to finish putting my motor back together. My setup is 350 with edelbrock performer top-end back by a freshly rebuilt T-5(yes I am scared it will break shortly after breaking in the motor). I never had any luck with a t-5 in a mustang with a 302. I guess I'll see how lond it can withstand 350-400 horse. lol. good luck and I am happy everything fits in.
