Question about covette problems?
I wouldn't mind a 96 vette which is what I really want but I can't afford it. LT1's cant be as gay as L98's. At least with an LT-1 I'll have 300hp compared to the 245hp that I used to have. After the ZR-1 died that's when corvettes took a turn for the better.
i kinda like my L98, i really havent had any problems with it. the whole center section and lighting went out once, but that was it.
btw, L98 Vette, and a stock LT1 will run roughly the same times. with the L98 winning in the 1/8 more often then not. bone stock i have driven my 89' to a 14.4

With over 50 hp more and probably more torque that is pretty messed up. Gear ratio's have to be longer or the car is a bit heavier. I was using mine as a daily driver maybe that's why I had all my problems.
I somewhat daily drive my vette and the only problem I have is the weathersripping around the window leaking which is apparently common in c5s. Ofcoarse it only started leaking a month after my warranty ran out. other than that no issues

I've got a 91 L98 and if I was going to buy a new one, I would probably buy an LT1. The L98 has more low end torque, but struggles around 5000 rpms. The only real difference is the intake. There are also many more upgrade option for the LT1 in comparison to the L98. If your going to change the intake, buy an older L98 for less money. If your not worried about the $$, wait for the 06 LS7.
Other than that, I haven't had any real problems with my car. It's got about 94000 miles. Traditionally, these cars have cooling problems and brake problems. I've replaced my radiator twice, but my car sits a lot. The position of the radiator and the mounting seats cause problems.
They're great cars and unique in the endless sea of Mustangs.

i didn't think a vette got a 6 speed till 91.
i could be wrong but i though they got the ZF in 91 and the lt1 in 92. i remember looking one time and thinking a 91 would be the one i would have to get. because you couldn't give me an lt1, I'd drive a ford first. been stuck working on way to many lt1s in my life to ever own one.
