Default largest ET street for a 16x8 rim

anyone know what the largest size ET street i can fit on a pair of 16x8 twisty stock firebird rims is? either the slick ones (with the little pin holes that make them DOT legal) or the drag radials.. i know they make the drag radial in 255/50 16 but what about the slick lookin ones?

the LARGEST you can go without modifying the tirewell, is like a 28" tall tire (usually they are actually 27") i run a 27x10.5x15 on a 15x8 rim.

the pin holed ones are ET Drags, then lined ones are the ET Streets.

or are you talking about width?

Really? You don't mind doing a little fabrication and rigging up your car to make something work that shouldn't be there, I'm shocked.

well, with those gears, id say your best bet is the 255/50/16 you talked about earlier. dont have to worry about being pulled over due to em, you'll still hook very good, and they are cheaper, and the gear you have with a 27 or 28" tall tire would be similar to that 255/50/16, with a 3.08 rear gear.

oh, and id feel safer going through any sort of water with their street radial...

I know, the sarcasm was thick.

I'd rock a 255/50/16 drag radial, comp ta's or m/t's... personally if your spending the money I'd go for the et's, they wear a little faster than the comp t/a's though.
