Question ECU eliminate gov?

Just curious, does a performance chip eliminate the top speed sensor? because i want to purchase a jet performance chip but not unless it eliminates the sensor. can anyone help?

dont waste your money on a JET chip. have your chip burnt to your custom specs by a tuner. i believe Jeremy Formato can do this. he is usually at Rev Xtreme.

you have a 4.3 or 2.2? if you have a stick- you can tap into the VSS wire (yellow) under the shifter by the tranny, an out a toggle switch in there , your speedo guage wolnt work but you will be able to go over- i dotn reccomend it but, you can do it that way, ive heard that the jet chips dont work, mike

VSS is a good way to get yourself in trouble....

The speedo won't work, the odometer won't work (can we say odometer fraud? weee...) and your car goes into limp home mode.

You could do a standalone system. That's about the only real fix for it.

your truck does not go into limp mode, at least on the s-10s ive sseen it done on, yea the odometer dotn work, and your speedo does not work, but it Does bypass the speed limiter, but if your rolling on stock tires, or in a 2.2 i dotn think you should do it, the factory tires are only rated to around 96 mph, mike

Why do you need to go faster than 95 mph in a S10- they suck- they handle like crap!!! but they'll run forever!!
