turbo cavi
even with a standalone....I would think the rods would go before the pistons(pistons tend to be pretty tough stock, so yeah I can see them taking 19psi) but the rods....have a picture of your stock rods? I have to give props to any other turboed car...especially american
Well I heard you ran a 14.9 yesterday on your 8 psi??
Even on 19 psi you would strugle with LS1's let alone Viper.
If it is your boy he deffinetely was NOT pushing it, about the fact that you were ripping 4th, maybe that motor and 39psi or 29. lol
I got to mess with you a little
, I hope you don't mind.
This Saturday come and bring what you got. Run me. from a roll of course.lol
PM me for directions.

On my car the the 440's maxed out right at 15.5-16psi and I was running about 13.0 a/f ratios... and the rods crushed. If I had cast or hyper pistons and ran 19psi, I think the pistons defanatly would have cooked before the rods bent.
No bs here... I know what it like have a freak car turbo charged.. Shit I have a turbo saturn for crist sakes...I must be retarded or something.

it really depends on the piston...look at the SRT4, they have cast pistons and can take 500 HP and 20+psi...just because its cast doesnt make it weak, its more a question of how beefy the ring lands are, like I said, rods are 1st and foremost the weakest part of most turboed motors(unless they have junky pistons with weak ring lands) as for how my car looks....heh, someday I'll make it pretty, right now I'll settle for decently quick
Having cast pistons does make it weak...under lean conditon. If the engine leans out, you get about 5-7 seconds of abuse on a cast piston before the top ring land cooks off. A forged piston will last somewhere in the time range of 15 seonds.
That engine dead from not have enough fuel. Those injectors where just outa there flow range. I have cooked 2 sets on cast/hyperutectic pistons with n20 back in the day. My pistons looked exactly like that.

the idea is to have good enough fuel control that it doesnt get lean enough to detonate...with good fuel control, I really dont think that the pistons are the weak point in the setup(for any serious motor of course forged internals are almost always required) but almost any piston should be able to hold up tp 15psi of boost at least...it tends to be junky rods that go first though
No, that is not the white 4 door, if that is who you think.
This guy lives in like Richey or something up there.
I hate Cavaliers they are so slow!!!
