no the fact that its gm's 2.2l is what makes it crappy. It is probably one of the worst engines to try and make powerful. It isnt designed for it.

true, I agree that particular gm motor is rather crappy(or rather doesnt have the potential of say an ecotec), but I love to see someone build up an underdog motor

And you say with 298 hp you were beating a Viper pretty bad, I mean come on man.
I have a Turbo Ecotec myself and I KNOW 300 to the wheel won't get you there.

But pretty nice tho, I wanna stab at it when it is done.

actually i dunno it'd be a good race cuz i mena them cavi's are pretty light but you say you sping right so you obviously cant get max potential out of that car due to lost traction so eh ???? stock viper, 16 yr old, granny shifting???

just fucking with ya btw lol sounds liek it would be a damn good race

:-p

BTW, the more I am thinking about it the less I see it.
That is a OHV motor there, but the only little thing I see there is some MSD wires or something.
Now what Fuel System are you using, and please don't tell me stock??
I see a stock fuel rail, and don't see an FPR, FMU, Extra injector bosses, or even a Nitrous Fuel Solenoid.
What are you pulling timing with, the wires?? lol
I see many things missing to equation so I think you are dreaming man.
Also, if I am not wrong cause I used to have a 98 OHV the intake manifold is made of recycled hardened plastic and 19 psi off the Turbo you are using will put a lot of stress on PLASTIC!!.

Correct me if I missed something.

I could have what looks like a stock fuel setup too if I cleaned up the wires in my engine bay a little more....its called a standalone, its believeable...I dont however believe he beat a viper 500ft is hard to beat if they are trying.....but then again a 300HP neon can walk a stock viper...barely, but if its a first gen then you are looking at a car 600 lbs lighter than a cavi, and who knows how much less than a viper, possible yes, probable no

hmmm.... ok well typically in the 2.2's the rods start snapping around 9-10 psi. Hmmm sorry doesn't sound incredibly believable. Best I've seen is a race-prepped sunfire that could run 12's NA, with about 270hp on the dyno. But then you're talking completely gutted interior (even a one piece fabricated dash, and smaller fuel cell), one piece fiberglass front, and drag radials.

Sorry but i'd have to see this one to believe it, and if you really are running that then i'll be the first to admit my fault and shake your hand.

Maybe the Viper was just cruising under moderate power, and he thought it was racing? I know if I was the kind of perosn who owned a Viper, I wouldn't look twice at a Cavi, no matter if it went pssh or not.
