I own a 57 chevy. Was given to me when my uncle passed away. The stock rearend for a 57 is very strong believe it or not. I think it was the March issue of superchevy in 2004 talked about how the ford 9inch theory is incorrect. Also, what do you consider a tank? They only weigh 32-36 hundred pounds and being a full size car is pretty damn good. Mine is the original interior with stock suspension. Waiting to get more money so I can upgrade the suspension. But I have a 383 built with all the high end componets, like victor jr. heads, super victor intake, custom ground cam, alum. race rockers, solidm roller lifters, could go on n on, but in the process forgot about one thing, dont have any breaks. Once i fix the small problem, I'll show u all they can get up n go with a small block.

Also, do you guys know of any good paint shops in the bay area?

Have you got it weighed?
Last time I PERSONALLY saw a 57 weighed, it came in at well over the 4k mark.

i agree with corey that that is at best a 13 second car if it is gonna run on those radials and if those heads are a typical small runner sbc.

13s old school on radials is quite an accomplishment.
