www.car-part.com

And why does it have to be a Vette Lt1? You could probably do it for cheaper with a Fbody Lt1.

this is for an 80 elcamino and the camaro lt1 has problems with the oil pan and the cross member wanting to occupy the same space, as well as the a/c compressor. the vette lt1 is supposed to be the only lt1 that I would drop in without clearance issues.

I would assume, by your suggestion, that the oil pans are the same bolt pattern? and that the internal pickup on the vette is located in the same place as the camaro? correct?

also that leaves me with where to get the bracket for the a/c compressor? any help in that area.

I have been to car-parts.com several times and there are an ass load of camaro's but very little vette's and the one thats in largo is not there any more ( I called). but if an oil pan swap is possible to solve the problem then I may just luck out.

thanks

If I recall, the pick-up tubes are the same. Bolt patten is also the same for sure. The AC and accessorys are in diffrent locations on the vette from the LT1 in the firebird, but it would be very easy to swap them.

so then the holes to use the vette bracket should be on the camaro block, just empty or used for a different bracket with a different shape. and the intake isn't one of the parts that I have been told to worry about, but that is good to know. thanks
