shift kit question
no new valve body. i installed mine with the tranny out of the car upsidown so i imagine it would be a little harder from underneath, but still doable. you take the valve body out when you do the install though. just lots of springs/washers n stuff and drilling a few bigger holes. my 1-2 shifts awesome but 2-3 i have problems with. it revs up before it shifts (seems like it slipps out for a second or something so it ends up redlining). im not sure if its the tranny or something else, but i picked this one up used w/70k miles so who knows.

Do the Trans Go. I installed one in my GFs car. It can get intimidating if you have never seen the inside of an auto tranny (like me), but it has step by step directions. The tape is more of a guide than a how to. Just dont use the 3 washers like people say. I spoke straight to Mike at Yank and a few others and they said one 2 if it is street driven and a stock tranny. Yes, 3 will shift harder, but a stock auto isnt made for the very hard engaugements and thats why they die. Just use 2 washers. It will also make the tranny live a better life because it wont float between shifts which creates alot of extra heat. The tranny cooler is a good idea, butnot a necessity if you dont have a stall.
The TransGo is nice 9and more expensive) because it has new revised valves, springs and is actually a COMPLETE kit, You do have to drill a couple holes bigger in the seperator plate, but NOT the valvebody itsself.

sorry, didnt mean drilling the valve body. yes drilling the plate though (easy). if i fix up my other tranny i will put 2 washers in it, just so its not quite as uncomfortable. im just enjoying the feeling for now

Well Ok heres a good one than.. My car has a 114k on it. A shift kit should halfway rebuild it right? do I need to worry about rebuilding it first.? And where did u guys buy ur kits at

She got hers from Thunder Racing. Also, check Rev Xtreme since they are local.
you wanna look into someone who can add more planetaries, raybestos steeles and i think they make clutch bands aswell.
