my cousin did up his blazer NOT WORTH he spent 3gs on headers exhaust rebuild and boring it 30 over etc. and I know that it can barely compete with a 350 with a decent carbureator on it. There is a short block LS1 motor in the area below. U should get that and just do up a V 8 and stick it in, they make special headers and motor mounts and my uncles blazer is proof that it will fit

I have to agree that a V8 is the best answer if your going for balls out speed...however if your just looking for a quick get around towner....then your next step should be to complete the exhaust. Best bet with hard to find items like that is to call up Ed at 'Gearhead' in Dunedin. He can usually find anything, especially domestic. From there, youll notice driving around town is a bit easier on the throttle and a little nicer sounding. If you wanna push it a little further, get a Hypertech Chip, preferably Stage II. These little wonders make a world of difference at full throttle and youll notice you go from sluggish to peppy rather quickly. From there, if it is a 4.3 Liter, spray it with a 100shot and dont waste your money on anything else because it will just be a trivial waste. If its smaller than a 4.3, well then your pretty much out of luck because I wouldnt run an ounce of Nitrous on a 4 cylinder Chevy Motor from the factory. Hope this helps out a little bit, I give you this info from to many wasted dollars and years of personal experience trying to make Chevy Trucks fast. It is possible though

All blazers are 4.3 equipped (except for the earlier which also had a 2.8 i believe). Yeah I wouldt waste any money on the 4.3. If you wantr speed to a v8 swap. I helped a buddy supercharge his 01 blazer and it ran a best of 14.91@91 or something like that. It was a huge dissapointment. He too has learned and has a small block getting ready to go into his 97 s-10 now. Good luck!

Just as everyone else has said, dont waste your time and money on the 4.3 and do a V8 swap.

I will be putting a 406 into my S-10 in the near future

Spray it for cheap or swap it. Swapping might cause more problems in the long run though.

Personally, I'd throw an exhaust on it and be happy. It ain't a performance vehicle even though you can make it one. But getting it to that point might bring major headaches. Unless, of course, its not your daily driver. If it isn't, then by all means, swap that bitch out!
