Default LS1 is dead

My 41k mile LS1 just blew up the other day and I was wondering if the 6.0L will bolt up to the 4l60E. If it will I will have no problems right? Also what is the best way to get the motor out, with or without the heads on it?
I need help asap, I plan to pull the motor friday night!

The 6 litre motor is the exact same on the outside as the 5.7. The difference is cast iron construction and 4 inch as opposed to 3.9 inch bore size. They will bolt directly to a 4l60e transmission. I would say the best bet is to drop the engine and trans as a unit out of the car with a palet jack. What exactly do you mean by "my Ls1 blew up" thought? I am just curious about the damage and the cause.

The only thing youre going to have to do is drill and tap one altinator (sp?) bolt hole as the 6.0 block doesnt have it. It has the boss where it goes, but no hole.

I always pulled my motor from the top without the tranny, accs. and intake. It was easiest since I didnt have the means to get the front end 3+ ft. in the air.

Got the motor out. Bought the 6.0 block. No shot, it was an n/a motor. I ended up with a spun bearing. Crank looks ok. :bbb:
